A note on "hardware is always safer": it is not a law of nature. In 2026, Coldcard hardware wallets lost roughly $88.6M across three attack waves because a firmware bug generated seeds with as little as ~40 bits of effective randomness instead of 128 — an air gap cannot save a key that was born weak. What actually decides safety is key generation and how the keys are held. Every wallet created here draws the full 128 bits the XRPL seed format allows; the full security architecture walks through that incident and our design.
Trading Fees and XRPL Ecosystem Support
Fees below are each service's own swap fee. Every on-ledger transaction also burns the network's transaction cost of about 0.000012 XRP — fractions of a cent, paid to no one.
Half the fee of the other built-in options. Crossmark charges nothing itself (the connected dApp's fee applies); Ledger and Tangem have no direct XRPL DEX trading.
| Wallet | Swap fee | Tokens | NFTs | DEX / AMM | dApps |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XRPL.to | 0.4% | Yes | Yes | Yes | — |
| Xaman | 0.8% | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes (xApps) |

| Ledger | — | Via companion | Via companion | Via companion | Via companion |
| Tangem | — | Yes (trustlines) | — | — | — |
- XRPL.to charges 0.4% per swap; a referral link earns its owner half of that fee.
- Xaman's own help center puts market trading via Xaman Swap at a 0.8% fee; sending, receiving, and trustlines are free below $50,000.
- Joey Wallet charges 0.8% per swap — shown in the app at trade time; its documentation does not publish the figure.
- Crossmark is a signing extension: trades execute on the dApp you connect to, so that dApp's fees apply.
- Ledger Live handles plain XRP only; tokens, NFTs, and DEX access need a companion wallet such as Xaman or Crossmark, whose fees then apply.
- Tangem's app manages XRPL trustlines and token balances, but by its own help center you "will not be able to see" NFTs or DEX orders.

Which Wallet Should You Choose?
- Active DEX traders - XRPL.to wallet for built-in swap, limit orders, and portfolio tracking
- Mobile-first users - Xaman for a mature mobile experience with dApp support, or Joey Wallet for built-in DEX swaps and NFTs on your phone
- Large holdings - Ledger for offline key storage, with Xaman as a companion
- New to crypto - Tangem for the simplest setup, or XRPL.to for a guided web experience
You can use multiple wallets. Many traders keep large holdings on a Ledger and a smaller trading balance in an XRPL.to or Xaman wallet.
