Xaman Users Have Paid 1.78 Million XRP in Service Fees

Every trade made in the Xaman wallet is followed by a second payment from the same wallet: 0.8% of the trade’s value in XRP, sent to Xaman. Since the first fee payment on 23 January 2025, 105,323 accounts have paid 1,779,177 XRP this way, about $3.29 million at the price on each day.

Every trade is two transactions

When you swap in Xaman, the app signs your swap and, with it, a payment from your wallet to ryouhapPYV…. That account’s Domain field on the ledger reads xaman.app, and Xaman’s own source code names it the fee account (config.ts). The payment carries the memo “Xaman Service Fee”, and its InvoiceID field holds the hash of the swap it was charged for (ServiceFee.ts):

    Your wallet Xaman’s fee account
A real pair from 15 October 2026. The fee uses the next sequence number, so the ledger can only apply it after the swap.

The amount is not written in the app. Before you sign, the app asks Xaman’s server what to charge for that transaction (BackendService.ts), and shows the answer on the review screen as a percentage (ServiceFee.tsx). It sends the fee only after the swap has succeeded (Sign.mixin.ts), and every one of the 2,122,439 fees counted here was charged on a transaction that succeeded.

The fee is always paid in XRP, whatever you trade. On a trade of one token for another, it is still a payment of XRP from your wallet.

What Xaman says it charges, and what the ledger shows

Xaman’s help page sets out the fee: “Market trading has a small 0.8% fee”, “Pathfinding transactions cost a fixed fee of 0.15 XRP”, payments over $50,000 pay 0.1% and over $100,000 pay 0.07%, and “deposits into supported yield products incur a 0.5% Xaman service fee” (Xaman). Trades are where the money is: 68.8% of all the XRP Xaman has collected came from them, and they were also the most common charge, 1,879,420 payments. The fee on other transactions was charged 183,299 times, mostly on trust lines, NFTs bought or sold and NFT offers, and adds up to 16,301 XRP.

Month by month

The most XRP arrived in February 2026: 213,641 XRP. The most fee payments arrived in May 2025: 174,329. Hover or tap a month for its figures.

Each bar is the XRP that arrived at Xaman’s fee account that month, split by what the fee was charged on. The line below counts the fee payments.

63.2% of all fee payments were exactly 0.09 XRP: the fixed fee, or the minimum on a small trade. The fixed fee stopped on trust lines, NFT trades, account settings and pools in June 2025, and the minimum on trades on 22 August 2026. In September 2026, the first full month without the minimum, 21,384 fee payments arrived against 55,834 in August 2026, while the XRP they carried went from 79,633 to 95,179.

The 0.09 XRP minimum, and its end

Until 22 August 2026, 63.0% of trade fees were exactly 0.09 XRP. On a small trade that is far more than 0.8%: a 2 XRP swap that paid it paid 4.5%. Up to that date 40.1% of trades paid more than 2% of the XRP they moved; since then, 0.7%.

The fee each trade paid, divided by the XRP that trade moved. Trades of one token for another move no XRP and are not in this chart.

Not every small trade paid the minimum: 131,036 trades paid less than 0.09 XRP up to 22 August 2026. The chart also shows trades that paid less than 0.8%: 21.4% up to 22 August 2026, 6.4% since. The ledger records what each one paid, not why. Xaman’s January 2025 post offers its paying Pro subscribers “25 feeless trading transactions per month OR up to $1,000 in volume per month before any fees apply” (Xaman).

What a trade costs

The XRP Ledger itself charges a fee on every transaction, and it is tiny: “The current minimum transaction cost required by the network for a standard transaction is 10 drops”, which is 0.00001 XRP, and “the XRP is irrevocably destroyed” rather than paid to anyone (xrpl.org). Xaman’s fee is on top of it:

Trade worthXaman’s feeNetwork fee
100 XRP0.80 XRP0.00001 XRP
1,000 XRP8 XRP0.00001 XRP
10,000 XRP80 XRP0.00001 XRP
100,000 XRP800 XRP0.00001 XRP

The fee is not spread evenly: the top 1% of paying accounts paid 54.7% of all of it, and the top 10% paid 91.2%.

xrpl.to, which publishes this article, charges its own fee on swaps made on its site: 0.4% of the trade’s XRP side.

The largest fee: 10,000 XRP, three times

No fee has been larger than 10,000 XRP, and that amount has been charged three times: about $77,147 in all at each day’s price. Each time, the transaction it was charged on named an amount far larger than anything it moved:

The amount named is the transaction’s Amount field: what a payment asks to deliver.

Both swaps were partial payments, a common way to swap at market on the XRP Ledger. The Amount of a partial payment is only an upper bound. What limits the swap is SendMax, the most it may spend, and DeliverMin, the least it will accept. On 5 May 2025 those were 50,000 RLUSD and 22,023 XRP; on 22 August 2025, 100 XRP and 257.21 RLUSD. At 0.8%, the amounts the swaps named would have meant fees of 800 million XRP and 8 million RLUSD. A fee worked out from the named Amount and stopped at 10,000 XRP would charge exactly what was charged. The ledger records the charge, not the rule: Xaman’s fee post and help page give no maximum, and the server that sets the fee is not public.

Seeing the fee in Xaman

  • The review screen shows the fee before you sign, as a percentage or an XRP amount (ServiceFee.tsx).
  • Each fee payment appears in your history as its own event. A setting, “Hide Service Fee events” (en.json), takes them out of the list; it is off by default (core.ts).
  • The app also sends the signed fee payment to Xaman’s server along with your transaction “in case of network disconnect” (BackendService.ts), so the fee does not depend on your phone staying online.

Method

  • Read from the XRP Ledger’s full history: every successful XRP payment into ryouhapPYV… with the memo “Xaman Service Fee”, from 23 January 2025 to ledger 107,684,901 (16 October 2026). Payments to that account without the memo, mostly spam of one millionth of an XRP, are not counted.
  • Each fee is matched to the transaction named in its InvoiceID. When the app had no hash to write there, it writes a placeholder ending in the fee’s own sequence number, and the charged transaction is the one just before it. 0 fees could not be matched.
  • A trade’s rate is its fee divided by the XRP that trade added to or took from the wallet, not counting the network fee. Dollar figures use each day’s closing XRP price.
  • The fee schedule is quoted from Xaman’s own pages, and the app’s behaviour from its public source code at commit 01e2538 (27 August 2026).
