Telling them apart
- Who holds it. If a few wallets hold most of the supply, they can sell into the pool before anyone else can.
- Whether the pool can be pulled. Liquidity tokens burned or locked cannot be withdrawn; ones in the creator’s wallet can, taking the pool’s XRP with them.
- Whether more can be minted. An issuer that is blackholed can never issue more; one that still holds its keys can.
- Whether it still trades. Volume over the last week, not one day’s spike, says whether you could sell.

What trading them costs
The network fee is about 0.000012 XRP a trade, but it is the small part: a pool charges up to 1% of each trade it fills, many apps add their own fee, and some issuers set a transfer fee that is taken on every sale (every fee explained). Bots also watch new launches and buy in the first seconds (sniping).
