XRPL Grants & Hackathons

Two programmes do most of the funding and support for builders on the XRP Ledger: XRPL Grants, which runs funds and accelerators, and XRPL Commons in Paris, which runs a residency, training and events. What each offers, as their own sites put it.

The programmes

XRPL Grants

Funding, with funds for Brazil, AI, on-chain finance and Japan and Korea, plus accelerator programmes run with partners. One application form puts you in front of all of them.

Now: Open now: accelerator programmes in Hong Kong (Brinc) and Singapore (Tenity); more announced for October 2026.

XRPL Commons

A builders’ house in Paris: The Aquarium residency, a free two-day training, an online bootcamp for C++ developers working on the ledger’s server, hackathons and meetups.

Now: Training and events run through the year; check the site for dates.

Read from each programme’s site on 16 October 2026; neither publishes grant amounts.

What helps an application

  • Something that runs. A prototype, even on Testnet, shows more than a plan (the Testnet sandbox funds accounts for free).
  • A reason to be on the XRP Ledger. Use what the ledger does natively: its exchange, AMM pools, escrow, credentials, multi-purpose tokens.
  • Open source, where you can. Tools other builders can reuse are what ecosystem funds exist for.
  • Numbers you can show. Users, transactions or volume from a pilot say more than projections.

Questions

How do I get a grant to build on the XRP Ledger?
Apply through XRPL Grants, whose single form covers its funds and accelerator programmes. A working prototype, an open-source plan and a clear use of the ledger’s own features make an application stronger.
Are there XRP Ledger hackathons?
Yes. XRPL Commons runs hackathons and events, and the XRP Ledger takes part in many general crypto hackathons; prizes and dates are announced by each organiser.
Do I need to know a smart-contract language?
No. Tokens, the exchange, AMM pools, escrow and NFTs are built into the ledger and driven by ordinary transactions from libraries such as xrpl.js or xrpl-py.
